This fine rifle is in . 38 40 caliber (marked . 38 WCF on chamber) with a 24" round barrel and full length magazine tube. It also still has the 38 CAL. marking on the feed block. Features the classic front sight and "flat top" rear adjustable sight. The serial number is 356699B denoting the year of manufacture as 1889. The engraving on the top of the barrel is clear, with a bit of corrosion fading:
